What this is

ServDog is a private registry. It is not a government agency, is not affiliated with any provincial program, the Canadian Transportation Agency, or the ADA, and registration does not create or confer any legal rights.

The record itself is free

Creating an account, registering your dog, keeping your Taskbook, storing your documents and downloading your QR code cost nothing. That is the part that does the work: a permanent home for your dog’s records, a log of the tasks it is trained to perform, and a scannable profile.

Optional extras

You never need either of these to use the record. Some people want something to show, and something on the harness.

Digital registration card

$49.95

A PDF and an image to download, and a version you can print and laminate. It carries your dog’s registration number, name, photo and a QR code that opens its profile. Delivered the moment you pay; nothing is posted. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes are coming soon — both are awaiting approval, and they are added to your account at no extra cost when they arrive.

It is not issued by any government and it does not change what a business may ask you.

Card and tag

$99.95

The digital card, plus a tag for the harness. Someone who finds your dog scans it with a phone camera and reaches the profile — no app, nothing to install. Free shipping anywhere in Canada. The tag is not sold on its own.

A scan shows your dog’s name, photo and registration status, plus an emergency contact only if you choose to display one.

One-off payments. There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. You order from your account once your dog is registered.

What we will not sell you

  • A clinician’s letter. A letter that carries weight comes from a health care professional who knows you. We have never met you and cannot write one.
  • Anything that is required by law. Registration is not required anywhere in Canada, and nothing we issue conveys a legal right.
  • A “nationally recognized” standard. There isn’t one. The Canadian General Standards Board project was terminated in 2018 without publication.

Where your province runs a program, apply there — it is free or nearly free, and it is the card that carries evidentiary weight. We have written up every province.
