How it works

ServDog is a place to keep your dog’s record and prove nothing to nobody. Here is exactly what it does.

What this is

ServDog is a private registry. It is not a government agency, is not affiliated with any provincial program, the Canadian Transportation Agency, or the ADA, and registration does not create or confer any legal rights.

  1. Register your dog

    Call name and category are the only things required. Everything else — breed, date of birth, microchip number, photo — you can add whenever you like, or never.

  2. Get a registration number and QR code

    The number is permanent and yours. The QR code opens your dog’s public profile, and you download it as an image to use however you want.

  3. Keep the Taskbook

    Record what your dog is trained to do, what starts each task, when it was trained, and the hours behind it. Export it as a PDF whenever you need to hand it to someone.

  4. Store the documents that matter

    Veterinary records, training certificates, a letter from your health care provider. Private to your account, served through short-lived links, never public.

What a scan shows

Someone who scans the code sees your dog’s registration number, its status and the date it was registered. Everything else — the photo, the call name, the category, the breed, your first name, your city and province, and an emergency contact — is a switch you control, and a field you switch off is never sent to their browser at all.

Your documents, your dog’s microchip number and date of birth are never on that page under any setting.

The Taskbook is the one exception, and only if you ask for it. Two switches, both off by default: “show tasks” on the dog, and “show on profile” on each task. Turn both on and a visitor sees that task’s name and description, and nothing else from the Taskbook — no dates, hours, trainer, proficiency, video or disability-related need.

What it does not do

It does not change what a business may ask you, what a landlord must allow, or what an airline will accept. Those are set by the law where you live, and we have written up every province and territory. Where your province runs a government program, apply to it — it is free or nearly free, and it is the document that carries weight.
